| Welcome to the 2012-2013 School Year
To our new families, we are pleased to welcome you to one of the finest elementary schools in Texas. To our returning families, welcome back!
The Stonewall Jackson family is made up of caring parents, dedicated teachers and staff, and community volunteers. The PTA encourages you to get involved in the school. There are opportunities to participate at every level of involvement.
Your first opportunity is to join the PTA. Our goal for PTA membership is 100%. The cost to join is only $7. Each local membership gives you dual membership in the Texas and National PTAs. Every person who joins the PTA also receives a school directory.
The PTA supports numerous projects throughout the year with both volunteers and funds. All funds raised by the PTA go directly back to the school to benefit our children. Some of the upcoming PTA events include:
- Fall Open House/Meet-the Teacher and Hotdog Cookout
- Innisbrook Sale (Fall gift-wrap fundraiser)
- Fall Family Carnival, October 20, 2012
- Silent Auction, Spring 2013
These are just a few of the PTA events planned for this school year. Look for more information throughout the year on the many opportunities to participate in all of the school and PTA activities.
In addition to joining the PTA, there are so many ways to get involved in Stonewall. You can the Stonewall Gardens group, become a member of the Dads Club, help in the classroom or volunteer in the cafeteria just to name a few. See where your interests are and talents lie and then jump in! Our wonderful parent (and grandparent) volunteers help to keep Stonewall Jackson one of the best schools in Texas.
