Join us for Foodie Friday THIS Friday right after school. Award-winning chefs George and Katie Brown will be preparing broccoli from the Stonewall Garden. We invite you to hang out, enjoy the weather, watch a live cooking demonstration, and taste some of the best broccoli you'll ever have!  

See you at the back lawn of the school - follow your nose!

HOME STRETCH! If you have sent change, THANKS!  If not, you have only FOUR days left!  Thursday is the final day to get your change in for the drawing on Friday. Please support our fabulous garden!  

 

Have your kids bugged you about change for the garden?  Good!  Last year, students gathered about $2,000 in coins, supporting the outdoor lab so many of them love and that is a crucial part of the science program at Stonewall.  We are collecting coins from classrooms through February 2 and encourage all students to bring what they can!  Parents, there is still time for your donation to support this model program! We need all Stonewall families to donate - $150 is the cost per student each year, and donations IN ANY AMOUNT are welcome!  Donate before the end of the month, and your name is entered in a prize drawing.  Thank you, Stonewall! 

Kindergarten Math Club starts this week. Look for the open classroom in the kinder wing. Math Club meets on Thursday mornings from 7:30am to 8:00am. All students are welcome.

Teacher Appreciation Volunteer Opportunities:

*Cooking or purchasing and delivering breakfast items for TA breakfast

*Baking homemade desserts

*Delivering desserts on Thursday

*Helping to set up or clean up for TA luncheon on Friday

*Purchasing items from Teacher Wish Lists

*Covering a teacher's lunchroom or recess duty so they can enjoy the luncheon

*Donating gift cards (general gift cards or local businesses) for the teacher drawing

Got Photos? Yearbook Wants Your Pictures!

   

Do you want candid pictures of your students in the 2011-2012 yearbook?  If so, please get us your photos! There are three ways to turn them in:

• Upload photos directly to Balfour (see below)
• Email your photos to katesimpson@sbcglobal.net
• Drop off a CD of pictures in the Yearbook box in the SJ office. 

For all photos, please include the subject of the picture and the grade level(s) of the student(s).  

 

Note: All photos need to be from this 2011-2012 school year!

Roll Up and Chow Down! Join us for our first annual Food Truck Field Day on March 31st from 11:00 until 3:00. Ten of Dallas' favorite mobile eateries will descend upon the Stonewall field for a day of tasty treats, tunes and more. $10 tickets can be purchased the day of the event and all proceeds benefit Stonewall Gardens.
