Letter from the PTA President

Dear Stonewall Jackson Community,

I hope you are enjoying the fun-filled days of summer! It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to get ready for another successful school year. Welcome back to our returning families and to our new families, welcome to the Stonewall community! We have another productive year planned and are also looking forward to the opening of a brand new beautiful wing this fall that will allow us the opportunity to kick-off our Stonewall Brick Campaign starting in August!

Stonewall Jackson's PTA goal is to focus on community-building activities and to provide additional enrichment programs and events for students, parents, and teachers. We are here to welcome and support existing and new families in our community and our focus reflects the fact that we all are an integral part of our children's educational experiences.  We are committed to preparing and supporting students for the changing world in which they will learn and lead.

We are an organization of parent volunteers, educators and community members who come together to work for one common cause, our children.  Everyone's participation is essential. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed.   I hope you will consider joining our PTA if you are not already a member. However, beyond joining the PTA we strongly encourage you to get involved at whatever level you choose.  Whether it is attending a PTA meeting, volunteering in the classroom, assisting a teacher by taking a project home or pulling weeds in the Stonewall Garden, it ALL truly makes a difference.

Enjoy these weeks of summer break and I look forward to another year of further building upon the great foundation upon which our wonderful neighborhood school was founded.
